WELCOME to the portal for the 28th International Symposium on Ballistics (ISB) to be held in Atlanta USA on 22 - 26 September 2014.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE
Please be aware that the Registration Fee DOES NOT repeat DOES NOT include the social program. This is a change from previous symposia and reflects changes in US policy towards conference attendance.
So please remember that if you want to take part in the social program (Reception, Visit and Banquet) then you need to follow the instructions below and select the social program as well as Registration.
The Registration fee covers:
Symposium Academic Program - note this does not include the Monday reception, tour and banquet (see below under Social Program)
Tuesday - Friday Technical Program Agenda, all scheduled meals, CD of proceedings
Through 5pm 11 July the registration fee is $1035.
Through 5pm EST 12 September this rate is $1135.
Thereafter it is $1235.

Please read the following very carefully before proceeding.
This portal will allow you to:
- Register for the 28th ISB
- Book hotel rooms
- Submit an abstract
- Submit a paper
- Submit an oral presentation (PowerPoint)
If you are a Member you will be asked to log in, when you will be directed to the registration process.
If you are a Non-member, referred to as a Guest, then you will be asked to join the Society. You cannot register for the 28th ISB without becoming a member of the Society.
Membership Renewal: Unless you are a Lifetime Member, your dues for renewal should appear automatically. Please contact the Membership Secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to convert to a Lifetime Member.
There are a number of steps for the registration process, which you need to follow.
Contact Details: Initially you will be asked to complete the Contact details. This allows someone else, for example your secretary or company administrator, to register you and your colleagues on your/their behalf.
Invoice Option: There are three invoice options to choose from. They are Normal Itemized Invoice, Itemized Invoice split between the Social and Symposium activities, and Consolidated Invoice with only the total due. The first two options allow you to identify the costs of each of your packages. Select the invoice option that best meets your sponsoring organization's requirements. If you wish your membership dues to be included with the Registration fee then select the Consolidated Invoice option. If you select the wrong invoice format then you can contact the Membership Secretary (email@example.com) who will provide you with the correct alternative.
Attendee Details:You will then be requested to compete the attendees details.
Packages: There are packages for Registration, Social Program, Courses (NDIA and Society), Exhibitor and the Companion Registration. You can only select ONE package each time you visit the portal.
On your first visit to the portal you should select the Registration package. This allows you to register for the symposium and select the various events and other options in a single visit.
Events:The events include the Social Program, NDIA courses, Companion Program, IBS courses. You can also purchase a hard copy of the symposium proceedings and request an invitation letter to support a VISA application. Check the relevant boxes to make your selections and have the costs added to your invoice.
You will then be invited to add other attendees if required.
Subsequent portal visits: If you are unsure when you register whether you wish to attend any of the social program activities or attend any of the courses or bring a companion, then you can re-enter the portal and select the appropriate package (Courses, Companion) and then enter the appropriate details. This process can be repeated as necessary. The portal will warn you that you have already registered so make sure you only select the new package and options you require. Following this process will also generate individual invoices for each package. This may be preferred by some of you.
Once you have made your selections a SUMMARY page will appear detailing the contact and attendee details and the total cost.
Click on the "COMPLETE THIS REGISTRATION" button and you will be directed to the payment section. Select the PayPal option if you wish to use PayPal or a credit card. Select Pay by Check/Bank order if you wish to use a check or bank transfer. Having made your payment selection a Payment Voucher will be generated, which you should review. This voucher, together with the invoice, attached as a PDF, will be emailed to the contact email address.
Checks: If you are paying by check then you should make your check (in US$ only) out to "The International Ballistics Society" and mail it, together with a copy of your invoice, to

Bank Transfer: If you wish to pay by bank transfer then please contact the Treasurer (firstname.lastname@example.org) or the Membership Secretary (email@example.com) to obtain our bank account details. Kindly note you will be asked to pay any bank charges associated with the transfer.
Substitution Policy: Substitutions of an attendee may be made at any time, free of charge, until September 16 2014.
Cancelation/Refund Policy: Cancelations received BEFORE 31st August 2014 will receive a refund minus US$75 cancelation fee. No refunds will be given for cancelations after 31st August 2014. Refunds will only be made in US$ and by check.

In order to ensure the discounted rate, please make reservations early and ask for the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) room block. If you do not wish to book online then please call the hotel directly at 888-421-1442 or (404) 577-1234 to make your reservation. For international assistance with reserving your room, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Rooms will not be held after August 30, 2014 and may sell out before then. Rates are also subject to increase after this date.
The rate for U.S. government attendees is the prevailing per diem rate at the time of the symposium. The per diem rate is only available to active duty or civilian US government employees. ID will be required upon check-in. Retired military or government civilians do not qualify for the government rate.
Complimentary guest room internet access (wired and wireless) will be available to those attendees who book within the NDIA block.
ABSTRACT, PAPER PRESENTATION SUBMISSION
You can also use the portal to submit an abstract to the Symposium. It is not necessary to register for the Symposium before submitting an abstract. Once the abstract has been accepted you can then submit the paper for the proceedings and if selected to give an oral presentation you can submit your PowerPoint slides.
ABSTRACT: All abstracts must be unclassified and cleared for public release. Abstracts must not exceed 500 words in length but can be supported by up to 2 pages of supporting material. Abstracts must still be submitted for papers intended for publication in a journal.
