34th International Symposium on Ballistics (ISB)

This symposium is co-chaired by Don Carlucci and Casey Uhlig and will take place at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Florida, USA, during May 18-23, 2025. The IBS website is now open for the submission of abstracts in the following areas: Interior Ballistics, Exterior Ballistics, Launch Dynamics, Vulnerability & Survivability, Terminal Ballistics, Explosion Mechanics, Hypersonics, Applications of AI in Ballistics, Emerging Technologies & Drones. Abstracts may be submitted at the link below.

We currently offer two online courses on IB101 Introduction to Interior Ballistics (video) by Dr Sebastian Wurster from Fraunhofer ICT in Germany and EB101 Introduction to Exterior Ballistics (pdf presentation slides) by Pierre Wey from ISL in France. New President, Board Election Result & Paper Awards given at 33rd ISB

The IBS is pleased to announce that James Walker continues as the President of the IBS for his second term. Frederik Coghe is the new Secretary of the IBS. The IBS is also pleased to announce the results of the Board Election. In alphabetical order, the following were elected or re-elected to the Board: Frederik Coghe and Baoming Li. They will all serve up to 3 terms. Thanks to everybody who voted and sympathies with the unsuccessful candidates. For the paper and poster award winners at the 33rd ISB then please select the appropriate award under the Awards category above. The 34th ISB will be taking place in Jacksonville, Florida, during 18-23 May, 2025.

Papers published in the conference proceedings of both the 32nd and 33rd ISB have been indexed and now appear in Scopus.

34th ISB - Special Issue of Defence Technology (DT) (Impact Factor: 5.1)

Defence Technology is pleased to accept submission of full papers for the Special Issue of Defence Technology journal for the 34th International Symposium on Ballistics.
The link for full paper submission is below. You will need to register if you do not already have an account at DT.

Please ensure you select "VSI: 34th International Symp Ballistics" for article type.

Papers submitted will be subjected to peer review and only papers of a high quality will be accepted for publication in DT. If your paper is not accepted then you will still be able to submit it to the symposium proceedings through the IBS website.

The deadline for submission of full papers to DT is 10 November 2024.
You must also submit an abstract to the 34th ISB - the link for this is on the IBS website now.
